YOM HA’ATZMAUT is from the Hebrew, meaning INDEPENDENCE DAY (Alcalay, R. The Complete Hebrew English Dictionary. Jerusalem: Massada. 1945).
The Hebrew Letters featured in this painting are Yud Vav Mem sophit – Hey Ayin Tsade Mem Aleph Vav Tav. Taken together, and reading from right to left, they spell Yom Ha’atzmaut.
