Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

MAGEN is from the Hebrew, meaning SHIELD, PROTECTOR, DEFENDER (Sidi, Smadar Shir. 1989. The Complete Book of Hebrew Baby Names. New York: Harpers Collins. 60).
DAVID is from the Hebrew, meaning BELOVED (Kolatch, Alfred J. 1984. The Complete Dictionary of English and Hebrew First Names, Middle Village: Jonathan David. 65).

The following explanation is from Gershom Scholem’s article, “Magen David” in the Encyclopedia Judaica 1972. Jerusalem: Keter. 11:687-697.

Magen David or ‘Shield of David’ is a six pointed star that is formed by two equilateral triangles which have the same center. The triangles are place in opposite directions and overlap.
